Italian Grammar in Use is a handbook with clear and easy explanations of grammar rules and a combined set of exercises aimed at meeting the practical needs of English speaking students who are learning Italian as a foreign language. It is designed for learners from total and false beginners to students at an intermediate level (Levels A1-B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The text is divided into 62 units: each of them covers two pages and deals with a particular grammar point. All explanations in the units are written in English and all examples are translated into English. The book provides associated exercises, in communicative contexts, to help learners practice and consolidate their knowledge. Every ten units there are summary exercises to help students revise and reuse the structures and rules learnt. The section Prove CELI contains mock tests of the Certificate of Knowledge of Italian Language and the appendix provides tables presenting the main grammar rules. Designed to be flexible, the book can be used in the classroom or for self study purposes. The key to exercises (at the end of the volume) allow the student to check the progress made.
